I hope this reaches her on time.
Before she walks down the aisle with another,
while her soul is still entangled with mine.
Tell her that the memories we created are the only thing I have of her.

I hope this reaches her on time.
Before she takes the surname of another,
when my name is etched in the back of her mind.
Remind her of how we swam across the ocean even when the waves were against us.

I hope this reaches her on time.
Before her lips lock with another,
when only the unique taste of my lips that sets her body on fire.
Tell her that our dreams will become perfect if she is a bit patient.

I hope this reaches her on time.
Before she walks into a strange home looking for peace.
When I wait at our favourite place at the lake.
Tell her that Adannaya and Jidenna may become folktales if she doesn’t come home.

I hope this reaches her on time.
Before she imprisons herself in a world of uncertainty,
when her freedom waits for her at her doorstep with no price,
let her know that our souls are tied together forever.

This sounds like a story I know. I hope she comes back, before it is late.
